Everybody starts somewhere! And at Sydney Rifle club we completely support those unlicensed, looking to give our great sport a try!
The recomendation is to get in touch with the club to organise a randevu on a routine Saturday practise. Alternatively we always encourage our current members to bring a friend along who might be interested.
The formal process for an unlicensed shooter is to fill out a legal form referred to as a “p650 Declaration” . This is the form which must be completed prior to an unlicensed person shooting on a range or undertaking firearms safety training per section 6B of the Firearms Act of 1996.
We have copies of this form on-site, but the form can be observed here.
After meeting and filling out the form, the club will be able to provide a rifle, ammunition and mentorship for the new shooter, to give it a go!
